La Casa de Oma
I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. My mother is German, my father Puerto Rican, and we always spoke Spanish at home. It wasn't until much later that I started learning German. As a child, we went on family visits to Germany, which always thrilled me. Some time ago I decided to go to Germany to review my memories of those special encounters as a young man. I currently live in Nuremberg, where part of my family lives. In my work, which I understand as a work in progress and which is composed of images and texts, I reflect my current perception of that promising country with my memories of a time that was full of feelings of happiness, but which today is only composed as a fragment in words and images. I am a wanderer on my own tracks of memory, between today and yesterday, between light and dark, between rediscovery and oblivion.
